Every line we run

Five jobs, one shop that answers its own phone.

Dabney sells, fits and repairs doors on both sides of the Golden Triangle: houses and businesses, the operators that lift them, the shutters that come down before a storm, and the screens that let a patio breathe again once it has passed. Call (409) 892-1543 and the person who picks up is James or Julie Dabney.

The three we get called for most

A door, the machine that moves it, and the weather it has to hold out.

Every one of these is a call the shop has been taking since 1962. A new door for the front of the house, a spring that let go overnight, a shutter that has to come down before the next storm off the Gulf. The details below are what actually happens on each job, not a price list.

Panel two

Openers and the repair calls

Half horsepower covers most houses. Heavy commercial doors run up to a horsepower and a half. Dabney fits belt driven, chain driven, side mount and commercial operators from LiftMaster, Genie and Guardian, all three factory trained, authorized and insured brands, and every one can be set up MyQ smart app compatible so the door lives on your phone.

This is also the emergency half of the trade, the calls that cannot wait for a scheduled slot. If the door will not move at all, it is almost always one of the six things below.

What actually breaks

  • Broken springs
  • Cables
  • Dented panels
  • Torsion bars
  • Roller repairs
  • Openers that will not open

A Google reviewer called Dabney to have two doors serviced and one operator adjusted. The technician, Keith, explained the difference between belt driven and chain driven operators, both price wise and mechanically, and never pushed her into replacing anything she did not need. That is the standard the repair calls are held to, on every make of door and opener, not only the brands Dabney sells.

Panel three

Hurricane security

Rolling hurricane shutters, clear corrugated storm panels and Tapco security screens, fitted along the Golden Triangle for more than fifteen years. The Tapco screens are approved and used for handicap accessibility, and every shutter closes over the opening that would otherwise be the weak point in the wall.

Also on the truck

Two more lines, quieter but no less real.

Commercial garage doors

Sectional steel, rolling steel, hollow metal and roll up doors for over fifteen years, with LiftMaster, Genie, Guardian and Manaras Opera operators. MyQ smart app compatible on commercial doors too.
